Mevlana

This ashlar eight-sided, flanged turbe, which is also domed, abutts onto the eastern flank of the kitchen in the museum courtyard. The entrance, on the northern facade, is shaded by a cupalaed hood. The tomb was built by the grand vizier Ibrahim Pasha in 1527, during the reign of Suleyman the Magnificent, to commemorate Hurrem Pasha, who died in battle in 1526. There are two cataphalques in the mausoleum, which belong to Hurrem Pasha, governor of the region of Karaman and Haci Bey (died: 1553), who served as governor in the provinces of Damascus.
