On the arch located at the right of the place leading to the nave, we find the scene depicting the feeding of the Virgin. Mary is seated on a throne at the holy place with four poles; Only the highest priest could enter here once a year. Mary is looking at the angel coming down from the sky and holding a piece of bread in its hand. Mary stretches a hand to receive the piece of bread. Mary's parents had promised that they would give the child to the temple, if they had a child. It is for this reason that Mary was left in the custody of the temple. She stayed in the temple for 12 years, until reaching the tender age of 15. Here she was nourished only by the bread brought by the angels. She was engaged to Joseph, whose stick became verdant and with young shoots in a trial contest. Above we see a procession of young virgins at the foot of the dome. These joyful young maidens holding torches in their hands, and whose attires and behaviours display differences, are portrayed in a state of motion.
